applying vinyl onto glass globes

 If you have tried it, you know that it's not easy to apply vinyl onto baubles / christmas ornaments or round vases without many wrinkles.
This is a tutorial how I apply vinyl onto glass globes! 
(And a great way to upcycle old christmas ornaments)

Wer es schon mal versucht hat, der wird wissen, dass es nicht einfach ist, Vinyl ohne viele Falten auf Christbaumkugeln oder runde Vasen aufzubringen. 

Dies ist eine Anleitung, wie ich Vinyl auf Glaskugeln aufbringe! 
(Und eine tolle Idee, um Christbaumkugel zu verwerten) 

What I have used: 

glass bauble / christmas ornament 

design out of self-adhesive vinyl 

transfer film 

squeegee 

scissors 

hair tie 

heat tool (or hair dryer) 

Was ich genutzt habe: 

Glas-Christbaumkugel 

Design aus selbstklebender Vinylfolie 

Transferfolie / Übertragungsfolie 

Rakel 

Schere 

Haargummi 

Embossingfön (oder Haartrockner)

I cut a piece of the transfer film and put it onto a part of the vinyl what I want to apply onto another piece of the design. 

Ich nahm ein Stück von der Transferfolie und legte sie auf ein Teil aus Vinyl, welches ich auf ein anderes Teil des Designs aufbringen wollte. 

Pressed on the transfer film with the squeegee. 

Mit der Rakel hab ich die Transferfolie angedrückt. 

I removed the transfer film (with the vinyl on it) from the backing paper. 

Die Transferfolie (mit dem Vinyl drauf) habe ich von dem Trägerpapier abgezogen. 

Then I applied it to another part of the design. 

Dann habe ich es auf ein anderes Teil des Designs aufgebracht. 

 

After that I placed the bauble / christmas ornament onto the hair tie, so it cannot roll away.

Danach legte ich die Kugel auf das Haargummi, damit sie nicht wegrollen kann. 

I have applied the transfer film (with the vinyl) on the middle of the bauble / christmas ornament. 

Ich brachte die Transferfolie (mit dem Vinyl) in der Mitte der Kugel auf. 

Pressed it on carefully with my fingers and removed the transfer film. 

Hab es vorsichtig mit meinen Fingern angedrückt und die Transferfolie entfernt. 

Then I heated it for only 2 - 4 seconds with the heat tool. 

(You can also use a hair dryer, but need more seconds) 

Dann habe ich es für etwa 2 - 4 Sekunden mit dem Embossingfön erhitzt. 

(Mit dem Haartrockner dauert es etwas länger)

Most of the wrinkles and bubbles were gone, 
I removed the remaining with the squeegee.

Die meisten Falten und Blasen waren weg, 
die Verbleibenden habe ich mit der Rakel entfernt. 

 I placed the next parts of the design (by using transfer film) onto the bauble / christmas ornament. 

Ich brachte auch die anderen Teile des Designs (mit Hilfe der Transferfolie) auf die Kugel auf. 

And it was done! 

Und es war fertig!
